First Day of School April 7, 2014

I am a little behind here.... again!
Here are the pics we took of her first day of school this year. She was very excited to be part of the 4 year old group. The three and four year old children are grouped together. I love that they get to experience being an younger and older sibling by learning together and helping each other.
She has the same head teacher as last year, which we are really thankful for. She learned so much last year and has already learned so much this year too.
She counts to 50 in Japanese and can read most of the hiragana characters. Now she is learning to write hiragana too.

Locks of Love

On April 14th sweet Violet decided that she wanted to go get her hair cut so that she could donate it to Locks of Love. She has been talking about this for a long time now but we were waiting to make sure she really wanted to do it.
On the morning of my birthday she said that it was the day to do it. So we took a bus to the beauty shop. She was so excited and she told everyone we met along the way where she was going and what she was going to do.
It was hard for me to explain to the stylist but after hand gestures and my muddled up Japanese, we were on our way.

She loves her new haircut and she is already talking about donating again! Love her sweet, tender heart!
 

May 24 Indian Cultural Event

We had a great time in Takata today at an event sponsored by the Indian Embassy. Violet and I both got henna art and the artist also gave Violet a Bindi. We saw an amazing performance, ate curry and felt like we took a short vacation.

  

We also saw one of the most amazing rainbows I have ever seen!

Mother's Day 2014

On Saturday morning, Violet woke up and said, "Good Morning, mama! Happy Mother's Day! You can lay in bed and play your favorite game on your player while daddy and I make you breakfast in bed. You might not be familiar with that because you've never done it before. But just try it and you might like it!"

I had to work that morning so I asked for a rain check. 

While I was gone her and Daddy prepared lots of surprises. 

I felt showered in love! 

They made me a fancy omelet dinner, bought me a cake set, painted pictures, bought me flowers and Violet wrote and played a song for me on the piano. 

The next morning (Sunday) they made breakfast and then we took a trip to our new fish market and enjoyed the museum inside of it. 

After that we went for a fancy lunch at The Plaza Hotel. Wonderful family memories! 

Oh and she wanted to wear her Yukata all day! She's currently enjoying the book Suki's Kimono so she wanted to wear her cotton Kimono like Suki. ❤️
