First Day of School April 7, 2014

I am a little behind here.... again!
Here are the pics we took of her first day of school this year. She was very excited to be part of the 4 year old group. The three and four year old children are grouped together. I love that they get to experience being an younger and older sibling by learning together and helping each other.
She has the same head teacher as last year, which we are really thankful for. She learned so much last year and has already learned so much this year too.
She counts to 50 in Japanese and can read most of the hiragana characters. Now she is learning to write hiragana too.

Locks of Love

On April 14th sweet Violet decided that she wanted to go get her hair cut so that she could donate it to Locks of Love. She has been talking about this for a long time now but we were waiting to make sure she really wanted to do it.
On the morning of my birthday she said that it was the day to do it. So we took a bus to the beauty shop. She was so excited and she told everyone we met along the way where she was going and what she was going to do.
It was hard for me to explain to the stylist but after hand gestures and my muddled up Japanese, we were on our way.

She loves her new haircut and she is already talking about donating again! Love her sweet, tender heart!

Cooking with Violet

Last night Violet made dinner all by herself. Well, I precut the veggies and put the raw meat in. But she did the rest. She made Japanese Curry. Boy was she excited! She added different spices too. She even served us all with little help from Mama. She is getting so big!! Video to come later. After she served it she asked us all how it was. She was beaming!

We all had seconds and she ate it for breakfast too. :)

My Mother's Day Present

My sweet girl painted a picture of me at school as a present for Mother's Day! I absolutely adore it!!

Violet's Shichigosan Movie

I am finally going to post the video I made of Violet's Shichigosan Celebration. It was a great day. There were so many beautiful photos taken by Naomi Musashi Stilp that I couldn't narrow it down. It is a long video and I don't expect many people will want to watch the whole thing. But for those of you who are interested take a peek and let us know what you think. :)
